Barry Rice first laid eyes on the Big Orange in 1975 when the Vols ventured west to play Hawaii, where the Rice family was stationed at Fort Shafter. The rest as they say is history. Rice would be selling Cokes in Neyland Stadium by 1978, and 7 years later would join the UTV team. Barry has served the UT Athletics Department in a full time capacity since 1989 writing, editing, shooting, producing, etc... Odds are if you've been to a football game over the past 30 years, you've seen Barry's work. With VFL Films veteran Link Hudson, Barry has carried the torch from the legendary Ernie Robertson and turned VFL Films into the standard of college broadcasting.

Under Rice and Hudson's tutelage, many UT students have walked through the doors of the Edwin Huster Broadcast Center and more recently the Ray and Lucy Hand Digital Studio. Ben Bates started as one of those students and enjoyed some unforgettable moments behind the scenes with legendary coaches and athletes. Ben has since moved into a sales role with The Vol Network, where Tennessee history and tradition pervade.
